Este sitio web ha sido organizado para anunciar y promover el plan (respaldados por la Asamblea de Movimientos del Foro Social Mundial en enero de 2005) de hacer coincidir manifestaciones internacionales sobre el cambio climático con la Conferencia sobre el Clima en Montreal . Es la primera vez que se produce una reunión de los estados firmantes del Protocolo de Kyoto..
Intentamos sincronizar manifestaciones en todo el mundo - en tantos lugares como sea posible - para presionar y que se tomen acciones urgentes contra el cambio climático y dirigidas, en particular contra la administración Bush por no ratificar Kyoto. La fecha -el 3 de diciembre de 2005- ha sido elegida porque es sábado y a mediados de dicha conferencia.
Sentimos que hay una enorme necesidad de manifestaciones internacionales en relación al cambio climático para presionar a los EEUU y que ratifique Kyoto y destacar la urgencia de la crisis climática. Necesitamos crear una corriente de opinión global para empujar y que se tomen acciones radicales y rápidas, sin las que nos arriesgamos a una catástrofe global de proporciones inimaginables. Creemos que las Conversaciones sobre el Clima en Montreal representa la mejor oportunidad para coordinar acciones internacionales contra el cambio climático, el próximo año y en sucesivos.
Apoya la Llamada a la Acción

"Apoyamos la llamada para realizar manifestaciones internacionales el día 3 de diciembre de 2005, en tantos países de todo el mundo como sea posible, haciéndola coincidir con las Conversaciones sobre el Clima (MOP) del 28 de noviembre al 9 de diciembre en Montreal. Estas manifestaciones pedirán que los EEUU y Australia ratifiquen el protocolo de Kyoto de forma inmediata, y que toda la comunidad mundial se mueva tan rápido como sea posible para un tratado de reducción de las emisiones más fuerte, que sea igualitario y efectivo para estabilizar los gases invernadero y prevenir el peligroso cambio climático"

The "Kyoto Protocol Appeal Walk" was organised by the Rainbow and Greens Japan, as part of the Pacific Greens Kyoto Meeting 2005 (Feb 11th-13th). This was a meeting of Asian/Pacific Green parties, many of whose members took part in the event. The demo kicked off with a band of cyclists gathering at the Thames Barrier (symbol of the climate threat to London) before cycling to Lincoln's Inn Fields. Here the march proper started, including a display of the flags of all 141 countries that have ratified The Kyoto Protocol. The march proceeded via the central London ExxonMobil offices (ExxonMobil wages a cynical campaign of disinformation on climate change, see www.stopesso.com http://www.stopesso.com/) and the Australian embassy, through central london to the US embassy. SCOTLAND, Edinburgh
The Edinburgh 'Climate Carnival' started off with cyclists gathering at the US consulate before cycling on to the Scottish Parliament where they met up with marchers who had come by foot. The colourful Carnival included people dressed as mosquitos (climate change will cause malaria to spread to new areas, further North). Speakers included Mark Ballard MSP (member of the Scottish Parliament) from the Green Party and Dan Barlow from Friends of the Earth Scotland. Carnival-goers also called for an Edinburgh 'congestion chage' as a way of bringing down CO2 emissions.
